BROOKLINE, MA — A Boston-based art gallery is expanding into Brookline with a second location.

Pellas Gallery’s newest pot opened at 14 Green St. earlier this week, marking the first time the company has expanded its footprint. The 700 square-foot gallery is located on the ground floor of the Alaïa Condominiums in the center of the Coolidge Corner neighborhood. The gallery launched with works by local artists Frank Stella, Daniel Arsham, Shepard Fairey, Aboudia, Tetsutaro Kamarani, Timmy Sneaks, and Ajarb Ategwa.

“We’re passionate about giving artists a platform to be seen and to grow,” Co-Founder of Pellas Gallery Isabel Arguello said. “Our goal is to create a space where people can experience vibrant, thought-provoking art, from canvas and bronze sculptures to mixed media, without intimidation. Every piece we show tells a story worth investing in.”

Arguello founded Pellas in November of 2019 with Alfredo Pellas, giving the company its namesake. The gallery is known for primarily displaying avant-garde works, meaning the art is experimental and unique. The couple comes from a finance background, however both also have a passion for art collecting.

The Boston gallery is located at 73 Newbury St. in the Back Bay neighborhood. In addition to rotating exhibits, Pellas Gallery Brookline is slated to also have solo shows spotlighting individual artists. It is currently operating by appointment only Tuesday through Sunday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

“Brookline has an international flair and a creative, community-driven spirit,” Pellas said in a statement. “As an alumni of Boston College, I’ve always felt connected to this area. We’re thrilled to bring our gallery to Coolidge Corner and celebrate bold, world-class art with the neighborhood.”
