The Rotary Club of Burlington is excited to announce a premier fundraising event, featuring wine and beer tasting and samples of great cuisine from local restaurants in Burlington. The fundraiser will be held on June 14th from 5 pm – 8 pm and will be held at the Grandview Farms, which is Burlington’s highly anticipated historic renovation project. We promise it will be a great and memorable night.
Unlike most of the Rotary Club of Burlington Fundraisers, which benefit local charities and initiatives, this event is dedicated exclusively to international service. In February, our club was awarded a $40,000 Rotary International Matching grant that will provide education opportunities to abandoned, orphaned, and impoverished girls in Honduras. We will be working with El Hogar Projects, an established and sustainable presence in Honduras with headquarters in Winchester (www.elhogar.org) to provide for the development of a high quality, safe environment for the education of school age girls at the La Casa de Niña’s El Hogar School in Santa Maria, a suburb of the capital Tegucigalpa.
A group of Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Burlington headed to El Hogar on Saturday, May 17th to help these young girls at their own time and their own expense.
