Assault, Shoplifting, And More: Burlington Police Log

June 14

10:12 a.m. - A caller at Best Buy on Middlesex Turnpike reported two people shoplifting at the shore. A 32-year-old from Dracut received a summons for shoplifting over $100 by concealing merchandise and a 29-year-old from Dracut received a summons for shoplifting over $100 by concealing merchandise and unlawful distribution of a theft detection shielding device.

June 15

12:35 p.m. - A person at Wegman’s on Third Avenue was caught concealing $280 in meat products. The person returned without incident and was asked to not return.

June 17

10:09 p.m. - A caller at Market Basket on Middlesex Terrance reported an assault. Two 19-year-olds from Winchester and a 16-year-old were issued summons assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

June 21

1:30 a.m. - Following a car crash on Chandler Road, a 43-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland received a summons for operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation, and speeding.

8:21 a.m. - A turtle was reported in the middle of Pearl Street. It made it across the roadway.

6:40 p.m. - Two shoplifters were reported at Abercrombie and Fitch at the Burlington Mall. Amanda Whiting, 38, of Penacook, NH, was charged with unlawful distribution of a theft detection shielding device, being a fugitive from justice without a warrant, and larceny over $250 by single scheme. George Whiting IV, 30, of Penacook, NH, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 and unlawful distribution of a theft detection shielding device.

11:05 p.m. - A 28-year-old from Burlington at Tavern in the Square on District Avenue was taken into protective custody.
