BCAT's Video Vacation Week 2015

BCAT will be hosting its annual Video Vacation Week for students entering the 6th grade through the 8th grade in August.

Burlington Cable Access Television (BCAT) will be holding its annual FREE summer program “Video Vacation Week”, Monday August 10th through Friday August 14th, 2pm to 5pm at BCAT.

BCATVideo Vacation Week is a FREE video program for children entering 6th grade thru those entering 8th grade. The program is a fun, educational week for kids to learn about BCAT facilities and video production. The week’s events are lead by BCAT Production Coordinators Cory McNeil and Kyle Ruffen who also facilitate BCAT’s middle school “Video Voyagers” program during the school year. Participants are taught proper use of video equipment, in-studio and in the field production. Video Vacation Week encourages participants to conceive and develop ideas and teaches them how to bring those ideas to life through video production. The videos are shot over the course of the week and then edited into a program shown on BCAT (Comcast 9, Verizon 39, RCN 3), BCAT’s website bcattv.org, BCAT’s YouTube channel, Twitter feed @bcattv and Facebook. Participants work behind the camera, taking turns as director, camera operator and crew and in front of the camera as talent. Regular support is given to all participants with a particular interest in any of aspect of video production. To watch last summer’s Video Vacation Week on demand, as well as Video Voyager shows from years past visit bcattv.org/get-involved/video-voyagers Video Vacation Week will take place at the BCAT 123 Cambridge St., Burlington, MA 01803 (entrance is located in the back of BurlingtonHigh School)
