Burlington Educational Summer Theatre (BEST) is excited to announce that it will present Cinderella, the magical fairy tale by Rodgers and Hammerstein, on July 25 at 7:00 pm and July 26 at 2:00 pm. Performances will take place in the Fogelberg Performing Arts Center of Burlington High School.
This year BEST welcomes a new artistic director, Warren Scott Friedman, who comes to Burlington with an extremely impressive resume of over 25 years in the performing arts. He has worked as a production assistant for three Broadway shows in addition to direction, choreography, stage management and musical theatre instruction for children’s theatre, regional and community theatre, summer stock, Off-Broadway, national and international tours, cruise lines and after-school programs. Friedman is a Union Member of Actors Equity Association, an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers, a member of the American Association of Community Theatres and a Member of Stage Managers Association.
Leading the cast of Cinderella is Mia Campbell, accompanied by Patrick Creedon as Prince Christopher, Christina Charmant as the Fairy Godmother, Caitlin Shea as the Stepmother, and Ivy Saltsman and Julie Surabian as Cinderella’s Stepsisters. Also featured are Michael Fazio as the Herald, Mikaila Gnerre as Queen Constantina, Sam Wright as King Christopher Rupert and Luis Villanti as the Chef.

The BEST kingdoms’ loyal subjects include palace musicians, footmen, coachmen, townspeople, housemaids, ladies maids, kitchen maids, palace ball dancers and staff, horses and retailers of every ware!
Kingdom ensemble members are Elizabeth Amaral, Jolie Atwood, Bridgett Brown, Mikaela Budina, Gracie Campagna, Emily Campagna, Sara Capobianco, Sophie Craig, Caroline Curtin, Erica Czerwinski, Judy Desmond, Sean Donovan, Branden Ford, Laelia Fowler, Carly Frost, Emily Gillis, Sophia Hartling and Tatiana Hawkins.

John Middleton-Cox, Executive Director of BEST, welcomes back Maura Lyons as assistant director, Leanne Reardon as choreographer, Eric Leva as Music Director, Peter Waldren as set designer and Maureen Krebs as costume designer, as well as Emily Martin as assistant music director and Kristen Healey as assistant choreographer.
BEST, a summer enrichment program sponsored by the Burlington Public Schools, strives to give young students from second through eighth grade a solid basis of experience and knowledge in theatre arts so they can grow and develop as performers. The production of “Cinderella” is condensed for younger students, but includes all the beloved characters and songs.
Performances of Cinderella will take place in the Fogelberg Performing Arts Center, 123 Cambridge Street, Burlington. Reserved tickets are $10 for students and senior citizens, $15 for adults.
