October 24, 2016 Burlington, MA The Burlington High School Music Booster Association announces its ninth annual “Gala Benefit Concert and Silent Auction” to be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2 pm in the Fogelberg Performing Arts Center at Burlington High School.

The theme for the gala is “Broadway Favorites” and will feature the New England Tenors (www.thenewenglandtenors.com), The Burlington High School Chorus, Select Singers and will debut the Burlington High School Wind Ensemble. Also appearing as a guest is the acclaimed Soprano Rachele Schmiege.

The New England Tenors showcase the outstanding vocals of Mr. John Middleton-Cox, Mr. Damian Corcoran, and Mr. Stefan Barner. The Tenors will perform a selection of Broadway favorites from “Guys and Dolls” and “Phantom of the Opera,” as well as opera and inspirational songs such as “O Sole Mio” and “You Raise Me Up.” The Tenors will be joined onstage by the Burlington High School Select Singers and the Burlington High School chorus for an evening of exciting vocal showmanship. The vocalists will be accompanied by pianist Wayne Ward, violinist Peter Stickel and percussionist Pat Hanafin.

The doors will open at 1 pm and guests are invited to peruse the auction items and enjoy complimentary refreshments provided by the Burlington Music Boosters. Auction items include Bruins Tickets, private lessons at the Real School of Music, weekend for 2 at Beach Dreams Cottages in Wells, Maine, an Odyssey Dinner Cruise for 2 including black car service in and out of Boston, and gift certificates to local restaurants, senior photo sessions with local photographers, and much more. The concert will commence at 2 pm.

The Burlington High School Select Singers have recently been chosen to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City in April 2017. Concert goers can mention the name of a Select Singer to have the price of their tickets go to help defray the cost of that singer’s trip.

General admission tickets for the “Gala Benefit Concert and Silent Auction” are $10 for students and seniors and $15 for adults. All proceeds from this event will benefit the BHS Music Boosters. Tickets are available through Burlington High School chorus members, by phone at 781-A-FUN-TIC, online at www.burlingtontheatre.com, and at the door. The Fogelberg Performing Arts Center is handicap accessible.
