My name is Dave Fionda and I am a write-in Democratic candidate for State Representative in the 21st Middlesex District, which includes Bedford, Burlington and Wilmington.

About Me
My name is Dave Fionda and I am a write-in Democratic candidate for State Representative in the 21st Middlesex District, which includes Bedford, Burlington and Wilmington.
I am a first generation Italian-American who started a family business with my Dad and worked three jobs to put myself through college. After graduating with high honors from Bentley College, I became a CPA and then started, grew and sold two consulting businesses. In 1997, I dedicated myself full-time to raising my daughter. I joined Rotary, quickly becoming a District Governor, responsible for the humanitarian and community service efforts of 47 Rotary clubs.

I served two terms as a Burlington Town Meeting Member, chairing the Land Use and Information Services Advisory Committees. I’ve rebuilt homes in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, fought to protect the environment, provided clean drinking water to hundreds of families in Honduras, help start two literacy programs, coached basketball, softball, and football, participated in the Walk for Hunger and cycled in the Pan Mass Challenge nine times to raise money for cancer research.
Why I am Running

Simply put, I believe that our elected leaders should serve the people they represent. Too often, the partisan discourse and maneuvering loses sight of this important fact. It’s time to being a fresh new perspective to the State House.
I am running because I passionately believe that it is time for Beacon Hill to Put People First.
When Charley announced his retirement on June 23rd, I saw it as an opportunity to take my lifelong commitment to helping others to another level.
On Tuesday June 26th, I formally announced my candidacy as a write-in candidate for State Representative - 21st Middlesex District.
Since then, we have assembled a great team of supporters and volunteers (Team Fionda), launched our website http://writeindave.com and our Facebook page http://facebook.com/davefionda.
From the day I announced until the state primary on Thursday, September 6th my team will speak with and visit thousands of voters. We will attend local events, coffees and candidate forums. Volunteers will be in every neighborhood of Bedford, Burlington and Wilmington speaking with residents and distributing information. For a complete list of upcoming events, please visit our event calendar at http://writeindave.com/events/ .
Voter Issues
Since I announced my candidacy, I have traveled throughout the district, speaking with community leaders and voters at shops and restaurants, community events and in their homes.
These conversations have been incredibly valuable to me, offering insights about the important issues that voters in our communities are concerned about.
Voters want:
- Fiscal Accountability for Government –Making government more accountable and efficient, while maintaining the safety net.
- Smart Growth for Our Towns - Balancing the needs of our towns, land owners and citizens.
- Affordable Housing for All – Making sure that everyone can realize the American dream of having a place to call their own.
- Quality Education in Our Schools - Providing our children with the tools they need to succeed in today’s world.
- Economic Growth to Provide New Jobs - Funding new and innovative businesses to spur jobs and consumer spending.
- Affordable Health Care for Working Families – Reducing the health care load for hardworking families.
- Tax and Financial Relief for Seniors - Protecting our most treasured resource, our seniors.
If elected, I pledge to work as tirelessly on these key issues as I have on my campaign. I promise to hold regular office hours in all three communities. If you have any questions or issues, I am happy to listen and respond. You can send me a personal note by clicking on this link http://writeindave.com/contact/
The Primary
Our current state representative, Charley Murphy, retired from the State House on July 31st. Despite his retirement, he will be the only candidate listed on the ballot in the Democratic primary on Thursday, September 6th. If Charley should get the most votes, then 16 Democratic Town Committee members from the three communities will choose the Democratic candidate to be on the November ballot and the person who may likely be your next State Representative.
We cannot let this happen. The voters of Bedford, Burlington and Wilmington should decide who will represent them.
I urge you to make your vote count and Write In Dave on your Democratic ballot on Thursday September 6th. If you do decide to support me and need a sticker to place on your ballot, please visit http://writeindave.com/get-your-stickers/
Together, we will Put People First.
