Burlington High Graduate Joins Police Department

The new officer was appointed on Aug. 15.

BURLINGTON, MA — A Burlington native has recently been hired to serve the Burlington Police Department, according to a Police Department announcement Tuesday.

Officer Eric MaGee was appointed to the Burlington Police Department Monday. MaGee currently lives in Burlington, graduated from Burlington High School and grew up in town.

“I'm very excited to welcome Officer MaGee to the Burlington Police Department,” Chief Michael Kent said in a statement. “His hard work, dedication and knowledge of the Burlington community will be a vital asset to the department."

MaGee also served as a police officer on the Hanscom Air Force Base and served as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2014.

MaGee will attend a municipal police training committee academy in September.
