Burlington High School Has A "Desperate Need" For Post-Graduation Party Volunteers
The committee puts on an annual, all-night party after graduation that is usually attended by 95% of BHS's graduating class.

BURLINGTON, MA -- The Burlington Post-Grad Committee, which has put on a party for graduating Burlington High School Seniors for the past 25 years, said it has a "desperate need" for parents to volunteer to serve on the committee. The committee meets 3-4 times each year to plan the all-night party following graduation and is credited with helping prevent the death of any Burlington High graduate on their graduation night since 1991.
In a typical year, 95% of the graduating class attends, checking in between 10 and 11 pm on the night of graduation for the party that ends at 5 am the following morning. The event, which will be held at King's Bowling this year, has featured hypnotists, tattoo artists, a roaming magician, dancing, DJ, tarot card reader, and prizes in previous years.

In addition to committee volunteers, the committee is seeking sponsors and donations from local individuals and businesses. The committee typically asks the parents of all BHS students to donate $20 and relies on prize donations from local community groups and businesses. Since 2008 the committee has given prizes to every student that stays until 5 am. Past prizes have included gift certificates from restaurants, bookstores, cinemas, golf courses, and hair and nail salons.
For more information on volunteering or sponsoring the event, see the committee's Website.
