The Burlington Historical Museum + the Francis Wyman House : OPEN

Two of Burlington"s finest Historic landmarks are OPEN to the public on Saturday May 12, 2018. They will be open every other Saturday

The Burlington Historical Commission and the Francis Wyman Association are pleased to invite the public to an OPEN HOUSE at both properties on Saturday May 12, 2018. The Museum will be open from 11:00-3:00 and the Wyman House from 12:00-3:00 . They will be Open to the Public every other Saturday throughout the Summer. (Hours may vary , please check the Patch Bulletin Board or the Burlington Historical Society Facebook page.) Admission is FREE, Bring the Family to learn about Burlington's Rich Past.

Visit the Museum and view vivid Murals of Burlington's rich past, Native American artifacts, antique farm equipment, historical fashion and much more. The Historical Commission plans on weekly openings and knowledgable Commission members will serve as guides. To compliment your visit stop by the adjacent Second Parish Burial Ground 1732 and explore the memory of Burlington's earliest residents.

Meanwhile , the Francis Wyman House will be OPEN to the public from 12:00-3:00. Once thought to be Burlington's oldest house, it is now know to have been built ca. 1730 on the footprint of an earlier building ca. 1666. Owned by the town and members of the Wyman Association, descendants of early settlers John and Francis Wyman, it provides a fascinating look into Burlington's past. Be sure to examine the the stone walls that surround the property and the unique stone enclosure known as a "sheep cote" ( or is it a Druid Temple?)
