BURLINGTON, MA -- The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families is investigating reports that a teacher at the Kindercare on Cambridge Street in Burlington may have assaulted a child. A spokesperson for Kindercare told WCVB News, which first reported this story, that they were notified on Monday by the state agency that one of its teachers "may have been rough with a child."
Separately, the Burlington Police Department and the Middlesex District Attorney's office open an investigation into the incident.
"Our office has received a report of an allegation of a potential assault and battery of a child by an adult that occurred at KinderCare in Burlington on Monday, Aug. 6," Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement. "We are currently investigating with Burlington Police. As this is an open and ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time."
