Burlington Man Pleads Not Guilty To Child Porn Charges

Investigators found over 1,000 images of child pornography on five separate devices taken from William Gates, 40, of Burlington.

BURLINGTON, MA -- A Burlington man pleaded not guilty Friday to five counts of possession of child pornography in Middlesex Superior Court Friday. William Gates, 40, of Burlington, was released on personal recognizance and with several conditions, including to have no contact with children under the age of 18 or use the Internet without supervision. He is due back in court for a hearing on April 24.

A law enforcement agency in Australia contacted the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in November with information that an unknown person in greater Boston may have used a Website known for sharing child pornography.

An investigation identified the individual as Gates. Investigators found over 1,000 images of child pornography were found during forensic examinations on five separate devices taken from Gates.
