Amidst the idealism and violence of 1964’s Freedom Summer, three college students vanish, seemingly without a trace. As the parents cope with their loss, they become inescapably linked, the heirs of their lost children’s dreams. Over the next three decades, the connections between these families with very different backgrounds are tested against the nation’s changing social and political climate.
