Burlington Police Investigate Bank Robbery

The suspect entered Citizens Bank, demanded money and said he had a gun.

Burlington Police are investigating a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank at 248 Middlesex Turnpike that happened at about 5 p.m. Thursday.

Employees told police that a man “walked into the bank and handed the teller a note, claiming to have a gun in his possession. The suspect received a quantity of cash and exited the bank, headed toward Bedford Street/Rt. 62. He may have escaped in a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or a Mercury Mountaineer,” said Burlington Police.

Witnesses described the suspect as having tanned skin, an average build and facial hair. He was wearing a camouflage coat, black pants and a furry winter “trooper” hat with ear flaps.

Burlington Police detectives are working with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force on the investigation.
