Burlington Schools Apologize For Extra School Delay Phone Calls

The school district said it is working with the company that maintains the system to figure out what happened.

BURLINGTON, MA -- The good news for kids in Burlington this morning was that the start of school would be delayed two hours, thanks to last night's snow storm. The bad news for their parents was that the robo-call system the school department uses to send out news alerts called several homes "numerous" times.

"We have received a number of notifications this morning to let us know that our robo-call system phoned homes numerous times this morning," the school district said in an apology posted on its Website. "We apologize for the additional calls and are working with the vendor to see what caused the malfunction."
