Burlington Scouts Celebrate Another Great Year!

Burlington Scouting units celebrated another great year on May 21st and 22nd at Rahanis Park. Cub Scout Packs 105 and 555, Girl Scout Troops, Boy Scout Troops 555 and 103, and Venture Crew 1799 paraded at Rahanis Park, where a formal ceremony was held on Saturday night, recognizing each group of scouts as they advanced to their next rank. As is tradition at this 10th Annual Crossover/Scout Expo event, an American flag was properly retired, reminding the attendees of the sacrifices so many men and women have made for us. Congratulation to all of these great boys and girls for their hard work, service projects, and advancement!

After the formal ceremonies, refreshments and fellowship were enjoyed by all, followed by a nighttime game of Capture the Flag. With all participants wearing glow-stick necklaces, it was a sight to be seen! After camping out for the night, a fine breakfast of pancakes, sausage and juice was provided.

On Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to noon, the Scout Expo was held. The Expo featured fun games and activities, including Minecraft Live!, Ultimate Frisbee, a live animal show, water bottle rockets, and many others. Families new to scouting came to the Expo to learn what Burlington Scouting is all about, and many signed up to join!
