Reading Superintendent John Doherty presented the award and called attention to Conti's work in Burlington and with the association. Conti has been superintendent since 2008, and previously taught science and served as an assistant superintendent in two districts. He has been an officer of the association's executive board for four years, and served as the association's president in 2018.
"He transformed his school district into one of the first one to one device school districts in the region," Doherty said. "He has been a leader in his geographical region by creating a coalition of Superintendents to make 21st century changes for NEASC, Late Start for High Schools, and the value of the information economy in his region by setting up numerous field trips to those industries."
