Burlington Teacher Gets Grant To Drone On, But Not In A Bad Way
LeRoy Chi Wai Wong received the grant to develop inititives to use drones in education

BURLINGTON, MA -- A Burlington High School help desk teacher was among the 15 Massachusetts teachers selected to receive classroom grants from Massachusetts Computer Using Educators, a foundation that promotes the use of technology in education. LeRoy Chi Wai Wong received the grant for his application entitled "SOARing with Drones in Education."
In a Twitter post, Wong said his students deserved much of the credit for his selection. Wong oversees the Help Desk, a student-run tech support center at Burlington High. He joined Burlington Public Schools at the start of the 2016-17 school year after spending nine years in a similar position with Boston Public Schools.
Details of Wong's winning proposal were not immediately available, but drones have become increasingly popular tools in education. A wide range of lessons can be built in science and other courses.
