Burlington Woman With History Of Legal Troubles Faces New Charges

Ginelle Thompson, 28, was charged with being an accessory after the fact, which follows a September blackmail arrest in Brookline.

BURLINGTON, MA -- A 28-year-old Burlington woman with a history of run-ins with police was indicted on charges that she and her boyfriend. Ginelle Thompson was charged with being an accessory before the fact by the Middlesex District Attorneys office, which on Tuesday released the names of everyone it had indicted between August 3 and September 20.

The district attorney's release did not elaborate on the details of the most recent charges. But Thompson, who has also been listed as living in Medford, has a long record of offenses, including a September arrest when Brookline Police nabbed her and her boyfriend, Sean O'Connor, 32, also of Burlington, running a scam to blackmail after they found his backpack in a church.

In that instance, O'Connor posed as a homeless man named Jason and demanded $2,000 from the man who had lost the backpack, which held a laptop, passports and other valuables. The man reported the demand to police, who set up a sting. O'Connor and Thompson were charged with receiving stolen property valued over $2,000. At the time, O'Connor told police that he and Thompson were homeless and "were in a bad place."

In 2013, Thompson was arrested by Amesbury Police and charged with possession of a class B substance, allowing improper use of a motor vehicle and failure to inspect. Thompson was riding in a car driven by Joseph Dyer, 22, of Haverhill, who was pulled over for a traffic stop on Interstate 495. Dyer was also arrested and charged with three previous warrants, possession of a class B substance and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
