Bus Transportation No Factor Is Proposed Later Start Tim For Burlington High School
The school committee is studying the possibility of moving the start of high school from 7:30 a.m. to 8:35 a.m.

BURLINGTON, MA — Bus transportation will not be a factor if the Burlington schools move to different start times, the school committee learned last week.
At their July 24 meeting, it was revealed that the bus company used by the town has confirmed that it will not cost any more to shift the school times. The school committee is studying the possibility of moving the start of high school from 7:30 a.m. to 8:35 a.m., a 65-minute shift, with a dismissal time of 3:05 p.m.
Middle school and the elementary schools would start five and 15 minutes earlier.

The proposed move is part of an effort by the superintendents of the Middlesex League schools to make a shift. If successful, all high schools in the league will have a start time between 8 - 8:30 a.m. by the 2018-19 school year. Currently, all high schools in the league start between 7:30 - 8 a.m.
