When the dog days of summer hit, many of us are faced with water bans that limit our ability to water our lush gardens. What if we started to incorporate plants that simply need less water? Jen will share the effects of drought on woody plants and describe plant adaptations for dealing with drought. Most importantly, she will introduce you to a new palette of plant material that will decrease your water use while increasing species diversity and beauty in your home landscape.
This program is funded in part by a grant from the Burlington Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Families will have the chance to explore all kinds of vehicles from emergency vehicles to snow equipment to buses and more. Visit with first responders from Burlington Police and Fire Departments, plus check out cool vehicles from community partners like Burlington DPW, Eversource, NRT School Bus, Frank Pepe’s Pizza Mobile Truck, Joseph’s Transportation, among others!Enjoy activities from some of your favorite retailers like Lush, CAMP, AT&amp;T, Xfinity and a variety of experiences. Residents from all towns and communities are welcome to recycle. The event will be rain or shine. Computer hard drives will be destroyed during the recycling process, but can be removed on-site at the event for an additional charge. Cash payment is preferred, but checks will be an acceptable form of payments over $30.

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests.
