The Historical Society is hosting its annual Potluck Supper.Thursday June 4, 2026 

Human Services building – 61 Center Street
For the evening’s entertainment: John Clark and his Great American Music Experience will present “State Songs of the USA”. 

You will learn about the history of our states and the stories behind writing these tunes. Interesting fact, Arlo Guthrie wrote “Massachusetts”. One of our 7 state songs.
So, bring your favorite dish and come ready to sing along while we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary. Coffee and Punch will be provided.
Doors open at 6pm
Dinner at 6:30pm
Program scheduled for 7:30pm

There will be a raffle. Anyone wanting to participate can either provide a $10.00 raffle gift or purchase tickets. Your support of the Burlington Historical Society is greatly appreciated.

Dr. Benjamin Remillard will discuss the role of New England’s people of color in the Revolution, what drew them to the Patriot or Loyalist causes, as well as what life was like for them and their communities after the war as the new nation struggled to find its footing.Benjamin Remillard is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Classics at Providence College. He recently received his Ph.D. in History from the University of New Hampshire and his current book project, Friends, Brothers, and Citizens: The Revolutionary War Veterans of Color Who Shaped the Early Republic, explores the lives of the Revolution’s veterans and non-veteran Patriots of color who lived across the Northeast during the early American republic.
