Driver Crashes Into Burlington Police Cruiser, Building
The driver and the police officer were taken to the hospital Sunday night with non-life threatening injuries.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Police closed Route 3A in Burlington for several hours Sunday night as they investigated a crash between a car drive by a 31-year-old Boston woman and a Burlington Police cruiser. In a press release, Burlington Police say the police officer was traveling north in the vicinity of 276 Cambridge Street when the 2017 Nissan Altima driven by the woman, who was traveling southbound, veered into the opposite lane of traffic. After striking the cruiser, the sedan struck a commercial building, prompting police to call in the Burlington Building Inspector to assess the damage.
Both the woman and the police officer driving the cruiser were taken by ambulance to Lahey Medical Center with what were described as non-life threatening. Burlington Police set up detours and called in the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section to conduct an investigation.
