False Lockdown Alarm At Burlington Elementary School
Police responded to a lockdown alarm at Memorial Elementary School Tuesday morning.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington Police were at Memorial Elementary School Tuesday morning for what ended up being a false activation of the school's lockdown alarm. The call went out at 8:15 a.m. Police went through the active threat procedure and determined it was a false alarm.
"We conduct extensive training in order to be prepared for any kind of situation, and I’m proud of the way our officers responded today just as they were trained," Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent said in a statement. "Above all, though, I’m thankful that this was a false alarm and that students and staff were never in any danger."
