Fire at Burlington Hotel Displaces 180 Guests: Report

A fire in the attic of a hotel on Old Concord Road displaced 180 hotel guests.

BURLINGTON, MA — A fire at a hotel in Burlington displaced 180 guests Thursday evening, reports the Burlington Union.

According to the Union's report, firefighters responded to the Sonesta ES Suites on Old Concord Road in Burlington at 5:09 p.m. Thursday evening. The report further indicates that no one was hurt as a result of the blaze, but that Fire Chief Steven Yetman described the amount of damage as "substantial."

Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze in just over 20 minutes, according to the report. The fire appears to have been caused by a malfunction of a gas-fired heating unit in the attic of the hotel.
