Firm Cuts 85 Jobs In Burlington

Boston Scientific Corp. will continue to run research and development, customer service and sales operations from the Terry Avenue facility.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Boston Scientific Corp. plans to cut 85 jobs at its Burlington office by the end of the year, according to a filing with the state labor department. The site on Terry Avenue was part of Boston Scientific's 2016 acquisition of Cosman Medical Inc. and the employees had been told last October that manufacturing, supply chain and quality operations jobs would be moved to other locations. Boston Scientific will continue to operate the Burlington site where it will conduct research and development, customer service and sales operations.

The Boston Business Journal reported Monday that the 85 layoffs follow 289 layoffs Boston Scientific made earlier this year in Massachusetts. Boston Scientific is a medical device maker.
