Friday Deadline To Submit Articles For January Town Meeting
At least 10 registered voters of the town must sign a written request for an article.
BURLINGTON, MA — Do you have something you want to put before the town meeting voters next month? The deadline is Friday to submit an article to be put on the meeting warrant. Submissions must be made to the selectmen's office by close of business. On Fridays, the office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The town meeting is scheduled for Jan. 27, 2020.
To be inserted into the warrant, a written request must be made by 10 registered voters of the town. "The written request of registered voters for the insertion of subjects in town meeting warrants shall not be valid unless the required number of registered voters not only sign their names but also state their residence, with street and number, if any," according to the state guide to town meetings.
