Gourmet Burger Chain Coming To Burlington
The Israeli chain Burgerim is undertaking a rapid expansion in the U.S., and will open its first Massachusetts location in Burlington.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Burgerim, a gourmet burger chain undertaking a rapid expansion, plans to open its Massachusetts location at Middlesex Marketplace. The chain describes itself as "an international fast casual franchise with a shiny new concept" and its menu puts an emphasis on letting customers custom-order burgers with a variety of buns, sauces and toppings.
Burgerim also stresses that it sells "miniburgers," not sliders. The burgers are typically sold in orders of three. Donna Tuchner founded the chain in Israel after attending culinary school in New York. Tuchner later sold the chain to an investor, who opened the first U.S. location in Los Angeles in 2013.
The company has submitted site plans to the Burlington Planning Board, which is scheduled to take up the application next month. An opening date has not been set.
