A high-speed police chase came to an abrupt end Monday evening on Cambridge Road in Burlington after an officer fired two shots at the fleeing vehicle, which crashed.

Kent said the driver, an out-of-state male who is now in custody, reached speeds over 80 mph during the chase, hit several vehicles, including police cars, and had a number of credit cards and high-end electronics in the van, according to NECN’s Josh Brogadir, @joshbNECN.
An officer who was directing traffic fired two shots at the van when the driver drove at him, Kent said, via Caputo. A female in one of the vehicles hit by the van was taken to a local hospital.
