Man Attacks Bank Teller Who Questioned Him On Phony Check

BURLINGTON, MA -- A Lowell man lunged over the counter and grabbed a teller by the wrist at the Rockland Trust on Cambridge Street on June 14 in an attempt to take back his license and a fraudulent check. According to the Burlington Police Department log, Dashawn Sylvette Owens, 25, of Lowell, attacked the teller after he was questioned about the check that was made out for $1,228.75.
Owens fled the bank on foot. Police issued a summons charging Owens with forgery of a false check, uttering a false check, attempted larceny by check and assault and battery.

- Lazaro A. Mejia, 36, of Framingham, was arrested at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Burlington on an outstanding warrant at 9:47 am on June 14.
- At 12:43 am on June 15, police issued summonses to Kayla S. Knowles, 19, of Woburn, and Anthony C. Petrizzi, 19, of 7 Sleeper Drive in Burlington. Both were charged with being a person under the age of 21 in possession of alcohol.
- At 1:40 am on June 16 police responded to a car crash on Hearthstone Drive. They arrested a 17-year-old juvenile on charges of leaving the scene of property damage, OUI - liquor, marked lane violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
- On June 17 at 6:45 pm police arrested Robert laramie, 53, of Laconia, NH on an outstanding warrant.
- Burlington Police were back at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office on June 18 at 9:57 a.m. to arrest Wilmer R. Agualzaca Solado, 21, of Worcester, on an outstanding warrant.
- At 7:24 am on June 19, police responded to a report of a past theft at Planet Fitness on Ray Avenue. They issued a summons to Yevegeniy Nikitin, 29, of Billerica, for larceny under $250.
- During a motor vehicle stop at the Border Cafe on Middlesex Turnpike at 6:51 pm on June 19, police arrested Russell V. Rounbehler, 36, of 38 Hilltop Drive, on an outstanding warrant and charges of subsequent offense of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, no inspection sticker and miscellaneous equipment violation.
