Man Charged With Stealing Over $450K in Equipment From Burlington Employer
Police say the man stole the equipment to sell it online.

BURLINGTON, MA — A Barre man has been charged with stealing over $450,000 of equipment from his Burlington-based employer, according to the Burlington Police Department.
Geoffrey James, 52, is charged with stealing $461,497.94 of medical, computer and office equipment in order to sell the equipment online. He is charged with larceny over $250 by a single scheme.
“This investigation conducted by Burlington Police Detectives unearthed hundreds of thousands of dollars of stolen goods,” Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent said. “I commend my officers for their diligent work to restore order and find justice for a local business.”

Police were contacted by the local business about a possible theft, and detectives subsequently served a search warrant and discovered the goods at James' home.
James will be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Jan. 18.
