Man with Gun at Local Hotel, More Reports of Tax Fraud, Driver Abandons Car after Crash and More

The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Burlington Police Department.
Friday, April 3
12:39 a.m. - Report of a vehicle parked on the wrong side of the guard rail in the area of 43 Middlesex Turnpike at 209 Middlesex Turnpike. It was reported to be a single car crash where the vehicle jumped the curb and hit a tree. Police were unable to locate the operator.
1:31 a.m. - Report of a group of teenagers in the middle of the street in the area of 125 Winn St. at 96 Center St. The group checked out OK, were advised and sent on their way.

10:13 a.m. - Caller reports while driving on Bedford Street he noticed a vehicle had the rear window smashed out. The house is across from the new cemetery. Resident reports her rear window was smashed sometime between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. Nothing was stolen out of the motor vehicle.
11:37 a.m. - Party in station reports when he attempted to file his tax return for 2015 with his CPA he was informed his taxes have already been filed. Same was informed to log the information with the local Police Dept. Reporting party was given an identity theft packet.

2:28 p.m. - Caller reports male in the area of the side of the building at 264 Cambridge St., drinking. Police searched the area and were unable to locate.
5:37 p.m. - Kohl’s Security reports a female may be attempting to leave the store with concealed items on her person. Kohl’s Loss Prevention personnel apprehended the suspect prior to police arrival. Loss Prevention advised store to handle same.
6:59 p.m. - Manager of Sonesta, 11 Old Concord Road, reports a male guest walked through the lobby with a handgun. Individual left the area in a motor vehicle. Registration of the car comes back to Methuen. Methuen Police contacted. Units standing by to see if subject returns. BB gun taken for safekeeping.
7:37 p.m. - Caller from Burlington Ice Palace, 36 Ray Ave., reports a male is refusing to leave the Ice Palace after a referee requested he leave after a disturbance. There was a dispute over being asked to leave the rink by a referee. Person left the rink without incident but did not feel it was justified.
