Memorial Day In Burlington: What You need To Know
Patch has all the details on Memorial Day Ceremonies, plus what's open and closed on the May 28th holiday.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Monday, May 28, is Memorial Day, and the Burlington Veterans Services Office and the Allied Veterans Council will be co-hosting a ceremony at 10 am. The ceremony begins at the Chestnut Hill Ceremony on Bedford Street. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Wooden Gym at Burlington High School. An announcement will be made 24 hours in advance and posted on the town's social media accounts.
What's Open And Closed On Memorial Day
The holiday also means government offices and some businesses will be closed. Before you head out, check our list of what's open and closed on the holiday
- Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion
- Subway, buses: Sunday schedule.
- Supermarkets: Open
- Convenience stores: Open
- Bars: Open
- Banks: Closed
- Basically anything to do with municipal government: Closed
- Libraries, see above: Closed
- Schools: Closed
- Mail: Express delivery only
- Trash/recycling collection: Delayed one day. Pickup is on Friday, June 1 during the week of Memorial Day.
