· Urban Heat Island Mitigation: The urban heat island effect is the temperature difference between urban areas and their rural surroundings. The temperature differential causes air currents and dust, and even contributes to violent weather events within urban settings. The green roof vegetation helps by cooling the air, slowing air movement and acting as a substrate for pollution to settle out and detoxify.
· Waste Diversion: The materials used in this installation are made from 100% recycled plastics. Reground post-industrial and post-consumer recycled plastics are diverted from landfills. Additionally, green roofs help to extend the life of roof membranes, keeping them on the roof and out of landfills longer.

“The green roof marks the completion of the 137 conditions mandated by the Town of Burlington in order for the dealership to be approved,” said Nick DiMauro, lead counsel at the dealership. “We couldn’t be happier with the dealership and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the Town of Burlington.”
The event will be held at Mercedes-Benz of Burlington, located at 80-82 Cambridge Street, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. For more information on the event or project, please visit www.MBOB.com.
