No Arrests After Chase, Crash In Burlington

The chase started after police responded to a reported larceny attempt of a motorcycle at the Burlington Mall.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Massachusetts State Police were looking for three to five black men who allegedly tried to steal a motorcycle at the Burlington Mall Tuesday night. Burlington Police initially responded to the incident, which started around 8:15 pm.

Police spotted the Honda Civic the men had left the scene in on Winn Street a short time later. Police pursued the car, which was stolen, into Woburn and onto Interstate 95 south towards Lexington. The pursuit was called off, but then the car was seen traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the highway. The vehicle was next seen crashed on the off-ramp to Winn Street from the highway.reportedly pursued the group in a stolen car onto Route 95 North and then chased them on foot after the suspects' crashed the vehicle on Winn Street.

Burlington Police called in State Police because of the location of the crash near the state-maintained highway. State Police used canine units and a helicopter in the search. Police detained one man but released him after questioning.
