Overnight Shooting Left Burlington Man With Serious Injuries

Police do not believe the shooting was random.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington police are investigating an overnight shooting, they said Tuesday. The victim was left with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Police do not believe the shooting was random or presents a danger to the public.

Police responded shortly after midnight Tuesday morning to a report of a person who was shot, according to the department. They found the victim, a 20-year-old Burlington man, "attempting to care for wounds to his back, lower abdomen and upper legs." He was taken to a local hospital.

Police believe the victim was shot in the parking lot of the American Legion Post on Winn Street, after he met with two men at an undetermined location. Burlington police detectives are investigating the incident.
