PHOTOS: Red Devils Split Hockey Double Header in Wilmington

The boys hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to the defending Division 2 champion Wildcats while the girls snagged a 6-4 win.

The results were mixed for the Burlington hockey teams in Wilmington on Saturday.

In the first game of a doubleheader, Sean Murphy scored a goal late in the first period to knot things up at 1-1, but Wilmington recaptured a 2-1 edge in the second period.

Though the Red Devils had a solid scoring chance with 57 seconds to play, Wilmington goalie Drew Foley kicked it away and the defending Division 2 state champion Wildcats went on to a 3-1 win.

Following that game, the girls hockey team took the ice and cruised to a 6-4 victory over Wilmington after pouncing out to a 3-0 second period lead.
