Police Log: Resident's Wall Being Moved, Shoplifters at Macy's and a Missing Garage Door Opener

Tuesday, August 19

10:26 a.m. - Caller requesting a log entry regarding a Comcast wire utility at the town sewer monitoring system. Caller says sometime recently, this wire was clipped and pulled from the pole. Comcast was contacted by the DPW director and it was fixed.

3:24 p.m. - Three cars were involved in a motor vehicle accident, 1 Mall Road.

4:15 p.m. - Caller reports the town is moving his rock wall on Laurel Lane. Resident was concerned that the town was adjusting his property line. Resident was advised to contact the engineering department.

4:15 p.m. - Caller reports a suspicious motor vehicle in the area of 24 Ray Ave. Police dispatched a unit to the area but was unable to locate.

4:37 p.m. - Motor vehicle crash in the area of 134 Cambridge St. No injuries reported.

5:44 p.m. - Caller reports youths on bikes in the area of Grandview Ave. Youths were advised.

5:52 p.m. - Macy’s loss prevention reported they are detaining two female shoplifters with no IDs. Police were dispatched to the store.

9:06 p.m. - Caller reports people may be drinking in the stands at a baseball game at Rotary Park, South Bedford St.

11:17 p.m. - Caller reports her garage remote opener is missing and doesn’t know whether or not she lost it or misplaced it. She wanted to report it missing because she believes she had it in her vehicle when she went to L’Andana and had her car valet parked. She has spoken with the manager and the valet attendant at L’Andana and they were unable to locate the remote.

Wednesday, August 20

6:42 a.m. - Resident came to the police station to report his ex girlfriend threatened to steal his car from his work today. He was advised that extra checks would be made and to contact police if he needs additional assistance.

11:19 a.m. - Caller reports a dog has been left in a car in the area of the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Center, 34 Cambridge St.

12:09 p.m. - Caller from Teratech Corporation, 77 Terrace Hall Ave., called to report 40 laptops missing from inventory.

2:15 p.m. - Caller reports an older white male is taking pictures of children on the playground of the Tender Learning Center. Police spoke with the individual who said he was taking pictures of the building in the area, not of the children at the daycare. and was advised to say off daycare property.

3:59 p.m. - Caller reports a suspicious pick up truck with Maine plates parked in the rear of the Northern Bank and Trust, 13 Center St., with a man inside and the truck running. Police discovered the man was taking a quick nap before driving home. Everything checked out OK.

5:12 p.m. - Caller reports possible drug activity in the area of the Burlington Mall. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

5:31 p.m. - Walk in party reports a fraudulent check was cashed at their bank in the amount of $5,000. Party already notified back and was given an identity theft packet.
