Police Logs: Car Window Mysteriously Explodes, Man Arrested for Vehicular B&E

Police Logs from April 23- 25

Following are excerpts from the   log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

April 23

  • At 1:11 p.m. police responded to a three-car crash on Middlesex Turnpike. One of the vehicles left the scene of the crash and was found further down the street. Driver said her car would not stop.
  • At 6:08 p.m. a motorist called the station to report that while she was driving on Cambridge Street her rear window suddenly smashed/exploded. She was not sure if it was hit by a bb or some other object. Police found no signs of bb or other projectile. Possibly a glass defect.
  • At 7:53 p.m. police responded to a disturbance call on Beacon St. A female caller reported her boyfriend had stolen her car. The boyfriend returned to the apartment and yelling ensued before the line went dead. Police arrived on scene and found it was a verbal argument only. Both parties advised of 209A rights.
  • At 10:04 p.m. a woman came to the station to report incidents of threats. She said she said she had been receiving threatening calls from her ex-boyfriend.

April 24

  • At 9:39 a.m. police arrested Joseph Nelson, 23, of 5 Pine Ridge Road, Burlington on charges of possession of burglarious instruments and felony breaking and entering a vehicle/boat in the daytime. Nelson was arrested after reports of a male looking into the windows of motor vehicles in front of the Burlington Cold Cut Center. 
  • At 9:59 a.m. a Mountain Road resident his vehicle had a smashed rear window.
  • At 3:44 p.m. police issued a citation for a motorist at H-Mart for misuse of a handicap parking placard. 

April 25

  • At 1:07 p.m. police responded to a call of a past break-in of a home on Alcine Lane. Access was gained to home and various jewelry items and two laptops were stolen.
  • At 1:18 p.m. a Mountain Road resident came to the station to report his son's mini-bike had been stolen sometime the previous night.
  • At 1:59 p.m. police responded to a domestic in progress at , 2 Van De Graaff Drive. According to call a female call girl and male customer had verbal argument, possibly over services provided. Both left prior to police arrival.
  • At 4:01 p.m. a caller on Hearthstone Drive reported observing a white box truck with the words "Iron Works" taking scrap metal out of the dumpster on his property.
  • At 4:52 p.m. police checked on a call of a suspicious person at at the . Police spoke to woman who explained she was "Geochaching." 
  • At 7:03 p.m. police arrested two people at 242 Cambridge St. Mariselar R Cabrera-Ramirez, 20, of 67 Idaho St., Boston on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and no inspection sticker. Jamal D. Jackson, 88 Howard Avenue, Apt. 2, Boston on a warrant from another agency.
  • At 7:38 p.m. police responded to a call of a theft in progress at Busa Wine & Spirits at 180 Cambridge St. Reporting party stated two black males around 19 to 20 years old stole three bottles of vodka and one bottle of whiskey valued at approximately $170. Both parties fled on foot before store employees lost site of them.
  • At 10:08 p.m. Burlington Mall security reported a suspicious white male with long, balding hair in his early 50s, wearing a gray Old Navy sweatshirt that was making employees uncomfortable. Security said the man was sitting on a curb holding small green boxes before walking away at a fast pace. Man was gone when police arrived.
