Police Logs: String of Vehicle Break-ins, Shoplifters Arrested
Burlington Police Department Logs May 16 to 18

Following are excerpts from the log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.
May 16
- At 1:10 p.m. police arrested Daniel Mulcahey, 26, of 8 Sheldon St., Burlington on charges of larceny from a building and felony breaking and entering of a building during the daytime.
- At 2:36 p.m. police arrested Brian Bemis, 18, of 4 Fowler Ter, Burlington on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding and a number plate violation - concealing ID.
- At 5:46 p.m. responded to a call of a juvenile male shoplifter at in the . Officers waited with youth and store security for parent's arrival. Store security issued a civil demand.
- At 7:57 p.m. police assisted Woburn PD by checking on a vehicle at a Mellin Street resident they believed was part of a hit and run accident in Woburn. Burlington Police checked the vehicle, found fresh damage and advised resident to contact the Woburn Police Department.

- At 7:09 a.m. police arrested Glen G. Harrison, 46, of 48 Lake Ave., Apartment BC4, Woburn on the strength of a warrant from another agency.
- At 10:37 a.m. a woman called police from at the Burlington Mall to report the grill from her 2000 Volvo V7 was stolen. The grill is valued at over $500.
- At 4:44 p.m. a Clonmel Ave., resident called to report someone broke into his home through the back door. Caller reported a Russian coin collection and jewelry was taken.
- At 6:34 p.m. a caller reported threats past/in progress. Caller reported a white male with a white male passenger in a black motor vehicle stated he had cut them off and then proceeded to cut in front of the caller. Caller stated the driver of the other vehicle then performed several "panic stops." The caller stopped at a gas station and the vehicle approached and both male parties threatened physical harm and called the complainant derisive names.
May 18
- At 6:29 a.m. police took a report of a motor vehicle breaking and entering on Daniel Drive. Caller reported his Ford Ranger was broken into overnight and his wallet, boat trailer registration, iPod and tools were stolen.
- At 6:58 a.m. a Humboldt Ave., resident reported finding his vehicle doors open.
- At 8:04 a.m. a Daniel Drive resident reported her vehicle was broken into overnight and change and a GPS unit were stolen. The vehicle was parked in the driveway overnight. The victim's husband called from work to report his vehicle was also broken into and his wallet, which contained cash and two credit cards, were stolen.
- At 9:43 a.m. a Polk Street resident reported her vehicle was broken into the night before. A gold colored token that was attached to the dashboard was stolen.
- At 9:55 a.m. a Clonmel Ave resident reported another motor vehicle break-in.
- At 11:52 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle breaking and entering at Burlington High School. A vehicle parked by the track had its rear drivers side window smashed. There were witnesses or suspects. Report states it was possibly an accident: there was no evidence of an object used to damage vehicle and nothing was stolen despite wallet, GPS and other personal belongings inside.
- At 12 p.m. a Daniel Drive resident reported her motor vehicle doors were opened and the interior rummaged through. Change was possibly stolen.
- At 4:22 p.m. police arrested Bryan J. Viola, 22, of 753 Lakeview Ave., Apartment 10, Lowell on charges of Larceny over $250. Arrest was made after Sears loss prevention detained Viola for alleged shoplifting.
- At 8:59 p.m. a Beacon Village resident reported her Nintendo Wii had been stolen.
