Police Logs: Sunglasses and a Vehicle Reported Stolen

Burlington Police Department incidents from June 6 to June 7.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, June 6

  • At 8:43 a.m. a resident reported that an employee of an Executive Park business was terminated due to the investigation of about $100,000 in theft by the employee from a job site in New Hampshire. The person said New Hampshire State Police are handling that theft. The employee has allegedly failed to return thousands of dollars worth of company equipment to the Burlington office of the company after being asked to do so. Rockland Police made notification at the employee’s home for the man to call Burlington Police.
  • At 3:17 p.m. a woman reported suspicious activity at the Shell Station on Cambridge Street. An officer was notified of potential drug activity at the business, and extra patrols were requested.
  • At 9:31 p.m. a caller at Not Your Average Joe’s reported a man between two vehicles holding an object. The caller believed the man was trying to enter vehicles. The person in question was gone on police arrival.

  • At 3:19 p.m. police received a report of a laptop that was stolen from Nuance about a month ago. The Dell laptop was either missing or stolen from the business.
  • At 4:11 p.m., Lord and Taylor reported a suspect in custody for stealing a pair of $599 sunglasses. A 33-year-old Boston resident was summonsed for larceny over $250.
  • At 10:54 p.m. a woman called to report that she was in the back of a cab and the driver would not stop to let her out of the vehicle after leaving from Boston. Units located the vehicle and initiated a motor vehicle stop. The argument was over the location of a hotel. The woman was dropped at the hotel by an officer.
  • At 11:26 p.m. a Barnes & Noble employee reported that his vehicle is missing. The man last saw his car at 7 p.m. and it was reportedly stolen from the left side of the parking lot sometime between 6:50 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
