Police: Smash and Grab Theft at Kay Pee Jewelers

The Burlington Police Department confirmed tonight that at approximately 7 p.m. this evening officers were called to , 85 Wilmington Road, on a report of a theft.

Consulting the log, Sgt. Gerard McDonough said the theft was a "smash and grab" that happened while the store was open. The suspect did not show any weapon and there were no injuries as a result of the theft.

The suspect is a white male, about 5'9" with a beard who was wearing a black hat. Witnesses state he fled the scene in a red Jeep Cherokee with possible New Hampshire plates.

Police have put a BOLO out for the suspect and are investigating the incident.

Updated: According to the Burlington Police log a $2,400 chain was stolen in this incident.
