Police: Tresspasser Using Hot Tub at Vacant House; Youths Having Fires in the Woods, Extra Patrols Requested

Tuesday, Aug . 18
At 4:21 p.m., Northwest Park employee reported youths have been having fires in the woods behind the area of 40 North Ave. She notified Fire Department and Northwest Park Security. Requests extra checks.
At 4:32 p.m., trespassing reported on Lexington Street. Woman reported that her house is vacant and for sale. She stated someone has been getting into the house and using the hot tub, Also, some items are missing. No sign of forced entry.

Narrative: Reporting party allowed male access to the home. Same stole some small items. Reporting party does not wish to prosecute.

At 8:53 a.m., motor vehicle crash on Wheeler Road. Two-vehicle crash; no injuries. Juvenile, 16, summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and highway traffic violation.
At 11:42 a.m., burglary, breaking and entering on Winnmere Avenue, while resident was on vacation. Resident found the rear bathroom screen pulled out of the window and on the back deck. $1,000 in cash missing from bedroom night drawer. Under investigation.
At 2:11 p.m., theft reported. Reporting party stated a grass trimmer was stolen from his vehicle while he was parked in the Plaza 62 parking lot. RedMax weed wacker valued at $400 stolen from back of truck between 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. No damage to truck.
Thursday, Aug. 20
At 8:30 a.m., suspicious persons on Cambridge Street. Employee reported two men in a black Camaro attempted to use a large amount of credit cards at the Carli Convenience Plus gas station. When the cards did not work the two men threw them in the trash.
Devin Mauro Dauria, 22, of Burlington, arrested for attempting to commit a crime, receiving stolen property over $250 and break and enter vehicle, and Thomas J. Contrino, 20, of Woburn, was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property over $250, attempt to commit crime, and break and enter vehicle.
Friday, Aug. 21
At 1:16 p.m., walk-in came into the lobby to report her debit/credit card was used at the mall on Thursday night. There were $3,812 in charges on her card.
