Rabbits Rescued from Vehicle, Macy's and Sears' Shoplifters Arrested, Opossum Walking Around Apartment Complex and More

Thursday, March 5

2:26 p.m. - Builder at 5 Demone Drive reports someone has been throwing items into the dumpster at night and attempting to get into the house he is in the process of building.

5:41 p.m. - Person in station states his motor vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of 67 South Bedford St. on March 5, 2015 between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon. Report completed, vehicle entered into CJIS.

6:12 p.m. - Report of a small white dog running in the roadway in the area of 146 Lexington St. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the dog.

Friday, March 6

9 a.m. - Person in station reporting a black pickup truck driving very aggressively during school hours in the area of 221 Fox Hill Road.

10:14 a.m. - Mall Security requested patrol officer to check on vehicle that was parked in lot near Sears Customer pick-up for four days. Vehicle had numerous items in windows blocking view of the interior. Vehicle windows were also frosted over on the interior and a cardboard sign with writings in black marker was blocking rear window. Entry into vehicle was made for a possible well being check. No one was in vehicle. However, multiple rabbits were observed in vehicle. Animal Control Officer notified and dispatched to take custody of rabbits.

2:20 p.m. - Caller from Avalon Burlington, 1 Arboretum Way, reports an Opossum is walking around the complex. Animal control notified.

5:29 p.m. - Macy’s loss prevention reports they have detained a shoplifter. Police arrested, Oscar M. Barahona, 24, of Chelsea charged with shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise.

7:53 p.m. - Manager of Panera Bread, 34 Cambridge St. reports a someone passed out in store. An ambulance was dispatched and the party was transported to Lahey Clinic.

8:20 p.m. - Sears at the Burlington Mall reports a shoplifter. Police arrested John Waterman, 49 of Wilmington, charged with larceny over $250.
