Release: Burlington Rotary Pleased to Announce James Tigges as 53rd President

The Rotary Club of Burlington is pleased to announce that longtime Burlington resident and member of the Burlington Police Force, Jim Tigges, has been inducted as the 53rd President of the Rotary Club of Burlington. Jim was sworn in to this office by his daughter Lindsey Tigges who is a former President of the Rotary Club of Burlington High School Interact Club.
Jim and his family moved to Burlington in 1967. He is a 1980 graduate of . Jim is assigned to the Administrative Division of the where he is responsible for scheduling, community policing, and is the Crime Analyst for the Department. As a Crime Analyst, Jim is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and distributing data relative to crime in Burlington and around the New England area. Jim is one of four officers responsible for receiving and distributing crime related data to the entire New England area.
Jim is a familiar face around the town of Burlington as he is also responsible for organizing community related events such as the police open house, and National Night Out (formerly held at Shaws) and any major events in Burlington that require the assistance of the police. Jim also works per diem as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Action Ambulance and also works per diem for the New England Organ Bank.

Jim brings a lot of energy, excitement and enthusiasm to the 2011-2012 Rotary Year! Jim resides in Burlington with his wife Simone. They have two children, Lindsey who graduated this year from Salem State University and Adam who was a 2011 graduate of BHS and will be attending Bridgewater State University in the fall.
