Burlington's Second Parish Burial Ground

Early settlers and Town Leaders have a story to tell..

The people of Woburn's Second Parish (today the Town of Burlington ) began to bury their deceased in a plot of land, adjacent to the Second Parish Meeting House (todays UCC), in the 1730's. The earliest stones date from 1736.

In 1769 the owner of the plot of land , Benjamin Johnson, donated the parcel to the Second Parish of Woburn as a place to bury their dead.

The Spirits of early Burlington urge you to visit this Hallowed site. It is always Open to the Public and Private tours can be arranged if you contact the Burlington Historical Commission, who oversees the site as part of our Museum Complex.
