Slate Set For Burlington's Municipal Election
There will be a four-way race for two selectmen's seats in the April 7 town election.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Tuesday was the deadline for candidates in the Burlington town election on April 7 to return nomination papers to the town clerk's office for certification. Selectmen Joseph E. Morandi and Michael S. Runyan, who are both up for reelection, will be challenged by Virginia E. Mooney of Mohawk Road and Nicholas C. Priest of Prouty Road.
Mooney served on the board of selectmen from 1988 to 1991. Last year she lost a three-way race with Joan Kennedy-Constant to Zoning Board of Appeals member and Burlington Police Department Detective James M. Tigges.
Outside of town meeting, the only other contested race is for three-year terms as library trustee, where Hiral Gandhi of Mohawk Road, Kevin Sheehan of Beaverbrook Road and Ram Voruganti of Tinkham Avenue are running for two seats. Jane H. Calo of Polk Street had taken out nomination papers to run but did not return them for certification by Tuesday's deadline.
