BURLINGTON, MA — Vandals appear to have used barbells to smash sign posts then used ATVs to move the broken signs around Whispering Hill Woods and Mary Cummings Park in Burlington. While the park has seen an increase in vandalism in recent years, the Friends of Mary Cumming Park say the most recent incident "hit a new level" and that the group is considering installing hidden cameras to catch the culprits.

"If you know who did this, please speak to them or their parents, or identify them to the police," the group, which maintains the park, said on its Website. The group has also produced a flier, which it is hanging in the park.

The group believes the vandals are also responsible for a fire pit and empty alcohol containers that have littered the area.
