What Makes Dolomite The Most Compatible Material With The Cement Kiln Clinker?

Refractory products are heat resisting products, which do not lose their chemical and physical properties, when they come in contact with aggressive slags and molten metals.

Introduction to Refractories –

Refractory products are heat resisting products, which do not lose their chemical and physical properties, when they come in contact with aggressive slags and molten metals.

Cement industry uses high quality refractory materials for their processes that involve high temperature conditions. Refractory materials are preferred for their incredible heat resisting properties, which make them absolutely fit for construction of equipment that operates on extreme heat conditions.

Dolomite -

Dolomite is one of the refractories, which are heavily used by the cement industry. It's through high temperature firing that the refractory manufacturers convert the natural double carbonate dolomite into the refractory dolomite.

Dolomite – which is manufactured in a refractory plant – is arguably the most compatible material with the cement kiln clinker. It's Dolomite's properties – such as incredible coating stability and resistance to thermal shock and alkali attack – that make it so compatible with kiln.

Besides dolomite refractory, the cement industry also uses several other refractory products – both shaped refractories, such as bricks, and un-shaped refractories, such as ramming masses & mortars, - for its different industrial processes; these products are selected on the basis of their individual properties. In general, fireclay bricks, high alumina bricks, castables, and ramming masses & mortars are amongst the most used refractory products.
