Woman Wanted In Burlington Theft Arrested In Florida

Marie L. Williams, 57, of Orlando, FL,, is accused of stealing from a disabled senior citizen in her care.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Police in Florida arrested a woman wanted by Burlington Police on Sept. 10. Marie L. Williams, 57, of Orlando, FL, is accused of stealing money and prescription drugs from a disabled, Burlington senior citizen she had been hired to care for.

Williams was return ed to Massachusetts and arraigned on five counts of larceny over $250 from a disabled person over 60, larceny U=under $250, abuse of an elderly or disabled person, larceny of drugs, identity fraud and being a common and notorious thief.

Police said Williams started stealing from the Burlington man in 2015. She was indicted in July 2017, but fled the area. Police from Burlington, Cambridge and Orlando worked on an investigation to find Williams.

"The Burlington Police Department did not give up in its pursuit of suspect who allegedly took advantage of and robbed a vulnerable resident who was supposed to be in her care," Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent said.
